"It's hard to keep something alive all day with your boob"

...so says Nadine. These little ones are so in need of their bigger human friends. It makes me think about biology class. The R and the K types of reproduction strategies, although I don't really remember it all it goes like this. If we were spiders we would lay eggs to have hundreds of babies and leave them to fend for themselves hoping that a few would survive. Animals more like ourselves have less young and invest more in their upbringing. This was taken to the extreme with humans. We have such big brains and heads that we have to pop our young out earlier than they are "ready".

Okay, back to this keeping something alive with your boob. Its a lot of work. Hats off to moms.

Neeli is 2 and 1/2 months old and this is what he likes. He wakes up in the morning to stretch his arms over his head and his forehead wrinkles up. Then he usually smiles. He spends the morning in his bouncy lounge chair and kicks and smiles, full body smiles. He switches back and forth from his "boo lip" to smiles but mostly he is content.

His favorite place is his changing table, he can't help but to smile when on the changing table. He looks at us through the mirror on the wall rather than straight at us. He also really enjoys his baths, never squawking, but instead just being content enjoying water poured over his body.

He likes to be kissed by mom and makes his lips in to an "o" and curls his tongue.

Mom likes to dance with him on her shoulder. He lifts his head up looking around as she steps around in circles.

He usually goes right to sleep when we put him down around 9:00 or at least doesn't mind to hang out alone until he dozes off. He usually sleeps until 3:00 or 4:00am. Putting him in a carrier is a sure way to get him to nap.

All in all he is a lot like me. I like kissing mommy, having warm water poured on me, bouncy lounge chairs are quite alright, and dancing and naps are two of my favorite things to do when I can find the time to do them.

Now if only Nadine's boobs could keep me alive I'd really have it made.
